How will I meet other students?

We know that living and studying in a new country can seem a little scary and you end up worrying about different things, particularly about making new friends.

Well, you don’t have to worry about that anymore. At Banbury and Bicester College there are so many different ways to meet new people; you’ll definitely be making new friends while you’re here!

Enrichment

As well as getting to know your classmates, you can meet other students from across the college through different enrichment activities.

You could get involved art classes, the environment society or student enterprise clinic. There’s also the chance to get sporty and take part in basketball games, football training and Zumba.

This is only a few of the enrichment activities that run throughout the year. Whatever your interests or passion there really is something for everyone here!

Volunteering

Every year our students raise thousands of pounds for charity through fundraisers such as hair and beauty shows and cake sales.  You can also volunteer your time with local charities across Banbury and Bicester. Pop into the careers centre to find out what roles are available.

Students’ Union

The Students’ Union (SU) is a student led organisation which aims to represent the whole student population, alongside organising plenty of extracurricular activities. The SU provides you with a platform to have your say and help improve the college experience.

Annual elections decide the SU committee, so you will have the opportunity to put yourself forward for a post such as President, Events Officer or Societies Officer.

Course reps

Another way to get involved with shaping the college is to volunteer to become a course rep. Each tutor group has a spokesperson who gathers their fellow students’ opinions on what is and isn’t working and supports the SU to make improvements.

Trips

There will be trips to go on as part of your course and others organised by our international team, giving you the chance to explore places of interest and immerse yourself in British history and culture. Find out more
