If your first language is not English and you are considering studying at an English-speaking college or university, you will need to demonstrate your English language ability prior to acceptance.
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) qualification is the globally recognised standard which is widely preferred for entry onto higher education courses.
We will provide you with practice activities and tasks to familiarise you with the IELTS test format and prepare you for the different types of questions you will be asked.
You will be given the opportunity to develop techniques and focus on the following skills:
• reading comprehension: process information quickly and efficiently.
• academic writing: analyse and describe data, present solutions to problems, present and justify opinions and evaluate arguments.
• listening: extract information, complete notes and follow complex arguments.
• speaking: prepare topics and contribute to discussions
You will receive advice, hints and tips on how to maximise your performance in the IELTS Exam
The course is suitable for students of Entry 3, Level 1 or above English.
Candidates must undertake an initial assessment and an interview to determine if they meet the eligibility criteria and that the course is suitable for their needs.
At the end of the course you will be ready to take an IELTS test to prepare yourself for entry onto the higher education course of your choice.
