A group of professional gardeners enjoyed a spot of pampering thanks to students from Banbury and Bicester College.
The team from Nicholsons in North Aston took time out from their jobs in garden maintenance to spend the afternoon at the college’s Graduate Salon in Broughton Road.
Hair and beauty students offered the team of 13 men and women haircuts and styling together with manicures and hand massage. The team-building style event was topped off by a range of canapés and drinks provided by students in hospitality and catering.
The session was organised by Nicholsons’ garden maintenance manager, Jane Ball, who said: “I have used the salons at the college for many years and I was keen to invite my team in to find out what it had to offer – as well as take some time out together.
“Our gardening roles involve quite a lot of independent working, so it is nice to get together from time to time and do something a bit different. The team have been out working in the wet all day today, so it really boosts morale to be looked after and pampered.
“I hope that by getting involved in sessions like this it also encourages more people to look beyond the high street and see what the college has to offer.”
Rachel Hunt, Graduate Salon manager, said: “The event was a great success and that the salon had a fantastic buzz during the evening. We are hoping to hold more of these events in the future.”
