Performing arts at Banbury and Bicester College is an industry based department.
Our professional links include:
• Artists in residence - IMPLEXA Dance Company - who work directly with our students on all aspects of running a touring company and offer work opportunities and internships on current shows
• The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury, who take our students on weekly internships and work experience. Students learn from professionals in marketing, technical theatre, box office, youth theatre workshop leading, theatre administration and more.
We also give our students the academic input needed for high-level success, combined with producing multiple, assessed shows of their own throughout the course.
With its focus on live performance and practical workshops, this course covers:
• devising theatre
• script writing
• business and employment in performing arts
• stage management
• lighting and sound
Assessment takes place throughout the course, based on individual and group assignments, live performances and written work, with an element of external examination.
