If you’re interested in our programmes, speak to your Head of Year 9 or contact us directly. We have working partnerships with lots of schools and may already be in touch with your Head of Year 9.
Below are some common questions and answers. These questions (and more) are covered in our Year 10 and 11 course guide for students, parents, carers and schools.
- What is RPA?
RPA (raising the participation age) means you need to stay in education and training until the end of the academic year in which you turn 17. However, you don’t need to stay at school. You can come to college and do one of our Year 10 and Year 11 programmes.
- How long am I at college?
You attend college one day a week for two academic years.
- How do I get to college and back?
Your school will advise you on transport.
- Do I need to wear my school uniform?
No. However, you may need to wear clothing that is safe and appropriate for your area of study – for motor vehicle or catering, for example. We will advise you about this.
- What happens during breaks and lunch?
Year 10 and Year 11 students are not allowed off campus during the college day. We have cafes on campus, or you can bring your own food.
- Do I get a report?
Yes. We send reports to schools and parents throughout the two years of the programme, and parents are invited to meet tutors once a year.
