Pathfinder Level 3 Programme

You will develop new thinking and learning skills through real-world projects, while also honing your maths or English and gaining a head start in your chosen vocational area.

The programme is designed flexibly around your requirements and is aimed at giving you the best possible start in September.

What do I learn?
This programme develops your entrepreneurial skills. You will get a good grounding in design thinking which you will apply to real-life issues related to your choice of vocational area.

The taught element includes:

A block of lessons at the start of the course

Small-group teaching, focusing on relevant aspects

Incorporation into specialist lessons for other subjects, for example with other learners on similar programmes

Teaching of, or seminars on, project management and/or subject specific skills.

The taught element also includes the development of:

Research skills

Project management skills

Writing, investigative, field study, performance or production skills, as appropriate

Presentation skills.
What do I gain?
You gain an Edexcel Extended Project qualification which is equivalent to one AS level.

You will also have the opportunity to re-sit maths or English GCSE.
What do I need?
Four GCSEs A*-C including maths or English.

Commitment to your learning and willingness to embrace a creative and practical way of problem solving.
What can I do next?
On successful completion you will be guaranteed progression to the vocational programme within your chosen career pathway area.
What else do I need to know?
This programme is ideally suited to talented young people who are looking to change course or get back into education.
